The Chickpea was originally designed for the Boy Scouts, we wanted to create a smaller fixed blade that was still large enough to accomplish all of a Scouts tasks in the woods. The design goal was to create a slim and lightweight knife that still gives you a full handle grip and a good amount of cutting edge. When the design became a reality, we quickly realized that not only was this a great knife for the Scouts, but it was also a versatile tool for any outdoors person!
Being one of our oldest models the Chickpea has seen quite a few revisions and updates. The current iteration of the Chickpea features a Nitro-V stainless steel blade with a saber grind and a blasted finish, making it ideal for harder use tasks. In this version we took a slim knife and made it even slimmer by reducing the G10 or Micarta Handle Scales to ⅛ inch! While this Chickpea retains the great ergonomics of the thicker handle scaled model, it is now even easier to carry and incredibly lightweight! These weigh in at a mere 1.7 or 1.8 ounces depending on handle material!
The Chickpea is a versatile knife that can serve many different roles. The compact profile and slim sheath make it a great choice for everyday carry, the slicey blade makes it an excellent bird and trout knife, lightweight woods knife, or discreet everyday carry.

I’ve been wanting a chickpea for awhile now and I’m so glad I grabbed this one! The color is vibrant, the acid wash on the blade is just how I like it, and I love the small, useful size of the chickpea. I love a small fixed blade that will work as a pocket carry, and this little guy fits my hand and my pocket perfectly. I already used it for several small tasks the day I got it!

An incredibly well made and beautiful piece of kit. I held back purchasing, but glad I finally pulled the trigger. A note on the size: this is a very small knife. I know everyone with eyes can read the specs, but it's hard to appreciate the scale until it's in hand. This is a 3-finger knife, so as long as expectations are calibrated accordingly, you will not be even slightly disappointed (I have medium-size hands, and adding a small paracord lanyard added to the maneuverability and sheath-removal).

I love the Chickpea. Its a small but versatile knife. I will be using it for skinning turkeys and small game and also for carving. Very good design and weight. Fits in my medium hand perfectly. I hope Thomas makes some more of the Trout series.

Excellent knife! One of my favorites….. except for the orange handles, I hate orange. That alone should tell you how much I love the knives T Nuge makes. My new edc and it’s a wood eating knife and makes lite work of any bushcraft/outdoor task you have.
I recently purchased the Cub and I am well pleased. Fit and finish of the knife is fantastic. The same can be said for the leather sheath supplied with the knife. The knife ergonomics are spot on for my hands. I believe it is a very capable package and I’m glad I purchased it.
