Very cool looking knife and a very handy size. The sheath rubs on the edge of the handle causing a scuff mark on the handle. I'm not sure if that is the expectation or not.
I'd been saying actual prayers for this drop, and lo and behold, they were answered! The scales on the Brook Trout edition are vibrant and absolutely beautiful. I could not resist and also grabbed the Brown Trout, which is more subdued (I keep that one in my work lunch bag), but no less beautiful.
The knife feels great in hand, allowing for a full 4-finger grip (I have medium-large hands). The blade is super slicy and lightsaber-sharp.
I wasn't sure about the kydex sheaths on a knife this small, so I grabbed one of the leather sheaths, which I love - I prefer it to the kydex, since the leather sheath allows the Chickpea to ride deeper in my pocket. While I appreciate that this knife was conceived as a better Boy Scouts knife - so "scout carry" makes perfect sense - for me, a knife with this profile belongs in my pocket. The kydex sheaths fit perfectly, no rattle, and add a nice pop of color over the typical offerings (to go with these unique "fishy" scales), but it's just not a practical option for me.
The prayers (petition? campaign? ) for a Fishy G-Carta Wicket XL starts NOW....
Just received this knife, and I have high hopes for it as a possible do everything from edc to skinning moose. Got the scandi grind in cpm 3v (just like my skookum bush tool); this knife has a rc hardness a point or two above the skookum. Fingers crossed it will improve the edge holding (already very good in the sbt). I like the badger claw sheath, but would jump at the chance for a deep carry kydex version just like it. Big fan of continuous curved blade like this one. Modern day puukko!
I got this because I always wanted something from KbN but didn't want something too close to what I already have. The Bru-Muk looked very different and interesting, so I grabbed one. I put it through the usual paces as soon as I got it. I made up some friction fire kits, whittled up a dead fall trap using pieces of batonned firewood, hit the ferro rod with the 90 degree spine etc. I was extremely impressed by the comfort of the handle and the performance of the blade. I really like the extra mass behind the tip, but it's not overdone. Great job on this one, Thomas!

Just what I was looking for. I reached out to the company and Nug himself got back to me and ensured I received what I was trying to get. I will be purchasing more tools from Nug soon. Big Mahalo!!
Wanted one of these for some time. Last thing I need is another knife, but I liked the design and had no neck knives. The design is unique and practical, sits flat on my lower chest so is not obvious, nice leather strap that’s easy to undo, arrived super sharp and ready to go. I like this knife, would buy again.
Absolutely incredible knife. I can’t wait to get my next one. I need a textured wicket XL with copper those are so beautiful.Great work, my man.
Top notch quality! He makes some of the best knives out there. Hands down the best EDC fixed blade beside the XL version.I have both!
The Wait is worth it! I waited for a textured wicked xl in-the handle material & color I wanted and it delivered! Great hand feel and ergonomics. The quality is fantastic, sharp out of the box & just looks so good. It is easily one of my favorite designs and best looking knife I have! Also the customer service is top notch and had all my questions answered in a timely manner! Great knife & great company looking forward to buying more! I Just need a custom sheath now in kydex along side the leather one provided.
Fantastic craftsmanship! From the handle to the blade, it is flawless. The leather sheath is stiff to start but very robust. The size is perfect for pocket carry. This will be my primary edc going forward.
I’m not sure I could love a knife anymore than I do this one. Just a perfect edc blade that hasn’t left my side since it arrived. Thanks!
Very sharp. Great size. Handle wrapping is very tight, and comes with a Wazoo leather neck cord. Very satisfied
This is my second Nuge knife and I'm just....blown away (a cliché, I know - but it's true!). The fit, finish, balance, etc., has made this one of very my favorites (in an ever-expanding collection of beautiful knives). I love a knife that's both small enough for the pocket (it's in mine now, and I'm not wearing baggy pants), yet large enough for a full 4-finger grip that doesn't feel like my hand will slide onto the cutting edge if I perform any hard-use tasks. Equally, the knife is a perfect (for example) steak (etc.) knife.
A new drop of "g-carta" Chickpeas, please!!!
